Porter Ranch

Originally homesteaded by the Porter family in the late 1800's, Porter Ranch has now opened its doors to you, our customer. 

Still a working hay, cattle, and elk ranch,  Porter Ranch is now operated by fifth and sixth generation family members and encompasses thousands of acres of the beautiful Alkali Creek valley south of New Castle, Colorado. 

Be among the few public to visit this exquisite setting.  Escape to breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife, and the peaceful tranquility of this working ranch in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. 

Horse back rides,fishing, hiking, camping, or just some simple R&R in our restored old school house  are a couple of the ways to enjoy time at the ranch.  Our activities are offered in small groups to make the most of your time with us....but  with thousands of acres to play on, we can accomodate larger groups by special arrangement, and customized trips are always available!  Let us know what you have in mind and we'll help make your time at the ranch be exactly what you'd like it to be!

Porter Ranch is moments from Vail and Aspen ski areas, steps from Glenwood Springs, just around the corner from the Roaring Fork Valley.  

Reservations are recommended for all activities, although we'll always do our best to accomodate last minute requests.  Due to the small group size we offer, our spaces often fill up quickly!
